Saturday 23rd November saw over 120 volunteers, trustees, staff and friends gather at the De Vere Selsdon Estate Hotel to celebrate 30 years of Home-Start Croydon with a fabulous ball. The Gordon Family sung and played for the pre-dinner drinks reception before guests were ushered into the beautiful ball room for a three course meal followed by a disco. John Harris-Rees did a great job as MC and managed to raise £773 as he auctioned off prizes generously donated for the event. Councillor Toni Letts spoke about the important work that the charity do and there was a raffle with some amazing prizes including a wine tasting course and various hampers.
Although the event was in aid of celebrating the success of the charity over the past 30 years it also raised over £2000 which will go towards helping local families who are struggling to cope.
Home-Start Croydon would really like to thank everyone who attended the event or donated something. We look forward to our 40th!
