FACE
2 FACE
Discovering
your child has a disability or additional need can be
a devastating experience, it is easy to feel isolated,
shocked........even guilty.
Our Face2Face project supports
families with children with a special need or disability,
especially at the time of diagnosis.
Face2Face believes that every
family is special and we respond to each family's needs
through a combination of home-visiting support, group
work and social events. Our volunteers help parents going
through difficult times by:
*Listening to feelings and understanding fears
*Offering a balance to diagnosis
*Improving access to resources and services
*Developing parent's confidence in their ability to care
*Empowering parents to act as advocates
*Encouraging productive partnerships.
This support
is offered in the families' own homes by a trained team
of volunteers, often themselves parents of a child with
a special need or disability.
Families are invited to parties, outings and fun days.
A support group is normally held on the 3rd Friday of
each month at Ramsey Court
from 12 noon-2pm (bring a packed lunch).
Please see the What’s
Happening Now page for forthcoming
dates or contact the office for further details.
